"Waiting On" Wednesday is an event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The purpose of this weekly event is to spotlight a soon-to-be-released book that you are very much anticipating. "Waiting On" Wednesday will also give bloggers an opportunity to share ideas for our TBR lists.

Title: The Betrayal of Maggie Blair
Author: Elizabeth Laird
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin Books for Children, 360 Pages (April 18th 2011)
Preorder here: Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble, The Book Depository

Synopsis: In seventeenth-century Scotland, saying the wrong thing can lead to banishment—or worse. Accused of being a witch, sixteen-year-old Maggie Blair is sentenced to be hanged. She escapes, but instead of finding shelter with her principled, patriotic uncle, she brings disaster to his door.

Betrayed by one of her own accusers, Maggie must try to save her uncle and his family from the king’s men, even if she has to risk her own life in the process.

Another cover I'm in love with - sounds more than amazing too. I love just about anything set in the British Isles. What does everyone else think of this one?

  5. I downloaded this one through NetGalley but I could never get into it. Loved the cover and the premise sounded interesting, but it never grabbed me.

  6. I read the UK edition of this 'The Witching Hour' and I honestly didn't like it at all. Hopefully it'll be different for you :)
